Nouns ending in -age are usually masculine.
The suffix often marks an action, a result, or a collection.
J'oublie déjà le visage de ma grand-mère.
I am already forgetting my grandmother's face.
Son visage ovale était sa marque de fabrique.
Especially remarkable was her oval face.
J'ai trop bu. Mon visage est bouffi.
I drank too much. My face is swollen!
